Japan Craft Beer Selection in Tokyo (April 11)

April 8, 2010

There are still places available. Already 150 beers are on the list! (April 8 )

cat03A big tasting session with over 100 bottled beers where you will judge the beers in a group.
I think it’s a good opportunity to experience judging, or just to enjoy tasting many beers.

Last year’s result is here (in Japanese)

JCBS is a competition-style event where you taste (judge) beers.
Brewers, owners and staff of beer bars will attend the event as well.
There will be over 100 beers.
————-
cat03I joined this event last year 🙂 Over 100 participants were sorted into about 10
groups, and each group judged a few styles of beers based on the judging sheet.
It was interesting to work with people with different backgrounds
(I was at a table with Maltan’s owner and a woman from Zato Trading).
However, it was not easy to keep tasting beers throughout the afternoon.
I recommend to be in a good condition. (I had to leave there quite soon because of my heavy hangover from annual big Hanami event. 10 barley wines for tasting was too much for hair of the dog!crying)
