Just in case you haven’t heard this yet… Fujizakura Kogen beer’s Rauch Bock won the Bronze medal for the category of smoked beer (had 35 entries!) at the World Beer Cup 2010, which is really a great achievement!

The brewery restaurant Sylvans is one of the places I want to visit again and again.  It has a lovely garden (the restaurant has some terrace tables facing to the garden, where you can take dogs.  ) .  Mt. Fuji is close too.

The information and flyer are from Sylvans Official Website http://www.fuji-net.co.jp/SYLVANS/ (in Japanese)

  1. I usually hit this big time!
lately tho, I fear the all u can drink has suffered, quality wise. The beer seemed sub par. The 2nd last time, the gas was too strong and the temp of beer too cold. last time, they kindly adjusted the gas but all beers seemed a tad off. Hope always for great things from wonderful Sylvans. Love the staff, the brewer, the beer!
May go there again this time round!
If anyone goes, best to give them a call and reserve a spot, as the last 2 times it has been full to capacity.
It used to be nice and quiet, but not any more!!!! – It seems everyone has found out about this magical deal.

  2. Thanks Chuwy!! Really important stuff to know before going there.
I’ve never been to the all you can drink session, so didn’t imagine such a difference. I hope the beer will be better this time!

I update the post above with some tips from you 😀

I would love to go but not sure- the garden should be getting lovely with some spring flowers!
